Art Custom Dollies Dolls momoko

Kindred Spirits

Today’s momoko is my Cafe Au Lait. She’s had a few incarnations. First I repainted her, then I rerooted her and repainted her again. Now she’s up for sale on eBay. I just adore her now. I always say that when I’m done with these cuties but I mean it everytime.

Click here or on the picture to view or bid. She’s even better in person. It’s hard for me to tell if the pictures came out because my computer’s fan broke and now I’m using my husband till the new fan arrives. Glad he knows a lot about computers being that it is his day job. I had to remember all my passwords and such because my other computer had that all set up. But I’m back up and running if a little disoriented with a different monitor.

So being in this dolly world- especially with Momokos, you get to meet a lot of great people on-line and it’s such an international community. The real eye-opening thing is a lot of these collectors are also artists like myself. They have similar interests and they know how to take wonderful pictures of their dolls because they obviously have an artistic eye. I don’t feel so alone and freakish anymore. Or if I am freakish, it’s the good arty kind. The offbeat or more syncopated kind. Something about these dolls must be a kind of muse for us artistic types. Looking back while growing up, I used to doodle eyes allover my notebook in school. and eventually turn these doodles into mini portraits. It’s almost as if I’ve been practicing for the doll repaints I now do. The eyes were the same size and I must have doodled hundreds of them instead of paying attention in class.

So it’s been a pleasure connecting and hearing from those of you that share my enthusiasm for those irresistible Momokos and other fun and funky dolls.
