Mom would be proud…

009

There’s lots to catch up on since it’s been a while since I’ve updated. In between then I completed four customs. One of which is this Rainy Day Parade above. The customer was looking for a melancholy goth girl and RDP is a great base for that with her jet black hair. I also made her dress from the “All Spruced Up” dress pattern at Puchi Collective. It was my first dress with sleeves and a collar. Being the novice sewer that I am I got stuck on the sleeves. I had no idea how to attach them and spent an entire evening trying to figure out how it was supposed to go together. After some trial and error I finally figured it out but went ahead and left the first dress as the practice dress and made another one for this doll. There were some happy accidents along the way and I think I’ll have to make more dresses so I can get the hang of the sleeves and collar. I think mom will be impressed but I won’t let her look at the stitching or anything like that 😉

Again, I obsessed over my Lati face-up and ended up redoing her eye-brows. Now she’s done. I will leaver her alone and focus on making her some more clothes. That and some clothes for 2 more Latis– Lumi and a Cat Coco. They probably won’t arrive till the end of April. Gah, the wait!

the eyebrows are done!

And finally I did a different doll for a re-root. One of the new Dynamite Girls- Aria. She’s been given and razor cut with my new razor cutting tool that was suggested to me by a hairdresser. I loved using it and it was so easy to get this nice look that’s modeled after an Ashlee Simpson hairdo the customer referenced me to.

Have a great weekend!

Meegiko wants a sister

006

So I think I’m going to get her one. I’d like a Lati with less of a frown and am looking at Lumi. And I’m definitely selecting the make-up option so I can just enjoy her when she arrives. I went and touched up Meegiko’s make-up as I found myself obsessing about any perceived imperfections. Oh well. I’m happy with her now… for now…

I made Meegiko some dresses. The same A-line pattern from puchicollective only Lati sized. She’s wearing one of them and I’m getting the hang of the machine. Still going at a painfully slow pace but since these dresses are so small it doesn’t matter. It still gets done fast since there’s only at most a 3 inch line of fabric. I hope to tackle another kind of pattern like the empire dress.

I’m squeezing these little me projects in between re-roots. Here’s my latest, a re-rooted 04NY. The customer wanted an opposite version of Dramatic bride and 04NY is the perfect doll to do that. Imagine Dramatic bride without melanin and this is what you get. She’s a nice fresh cool version. Here she wearing R&D’s Midnight Sparkle dress.

Dolly Bonanza

009

So I just realized I think I’ve had this blog up for a year now. I can’t believe how time flies. I was reminded of this because of a comment on one of my very first 60cm face-ups. Admittingly not my best work but hey, it was my first one. So here’s my latest one. I had his picture up a few days ago but ended up redoing him and like him better now. Not so washed out looking and very sweet and innocent. I re-worked this wig too so that it would be more boyish. Gave it a haircut and turned it on it’s side. I may still get another wig for him as this one is kind of funky.

So today was quite a happy doll day. I finally got Princess a’ La mode after a few months of buying her. She was waiting on the release of Momoko Slow Smile Traditional. That release was delayed quite a bit so PAM now named Midori was waiting in Japan for a while. I guess you can say it was an early Christmas for me. Such colorful girls. Who knew I’d be drawn to fantasy hair color.
